Grace and faith True faith is to simply agree with the word of God. There are Christian groups that base everything on Grace. But the Bible clearly tells us that we are saved by Grace through faith. It also exclaims that faith without works is dead. We know dead faith won’t work so what is the work of faith? True faith is to simply agree with the word of God. If man could save himself, God’s ability (grace) wouldn’t be needed and Calvary wouldn’t be necessary. There are some who would deny the facts of creation and accept the theory of evolution. In doing so they must refute and reject the existence of the almighty and eternal God. If there is no God then there is no grace and no salvation. God has the ability to save man from his lost condition but not without mans agreement with what God has said. Salvation is a gift from God but an endowment is of no value if it isn’t accepted. The Bible tells us that God is a spirit and man was made in his image. The original creation was the spirit image of God and his only means of life was the breath of God which God breathed into his nostrils and man became a living soul. Man was warned that in the day that he disobeyed or sinned he would surely die. Well, he disobeyed and his spirit man died. There had to be a way of sustaining life, hence blood began running through the veins of mankind. How that was accomplished is not known but the Bible tells us that life is in the blood. When mans blood is shed life ceases. We know that human blood has no eternal equation. The Son of God was manifested in the flesh but without any trace of human blood. It was our Lord’s flesh that was crucified and died and the blood that puddled at the foot of Calvary was holy blood. Before all this Jesus said, “Father into your hands I commend my spirit”. When he rose from the dead it was his spirit that furnished life for the physical frame. Remember, he told his disciples to feel him and see that he was flesh and bone (not flesh and blood). It is the spirit that died in the Garden of Eden and that is born again and provides life – ETERNAL LIFE! Life, as we know it, will die and it will be extended into an eternal death in hell unless we accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and allow our spirit to be born again. I Cor. 15:55 says “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? When Adam sinned the spirit died and there had to be a change. Blood began flowing through the veins of man and became the means of sustaining life. Romans 8:10 tells us that the body is dead because of sin but the Spirit is life… James 2:26 explains that the body without the spirit is dead. That means that unless the spirit is born again, the body (flesh) is dependent on the substitute system for maintaining life which is ultimate death. Exercising faith in the Grace of God produces life just as sin produces death. GRACE AND FAITH Romans 5:15 – But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: By grace is how we’re saved – that’s God’s ability My efforts would fail though I took all eternity Grace is what God and God alone can do Grace opens the pearly gates so I can pass through Grace is a miracle but, for God, it’s a normal act Grace will never fail – it runs on a tried and true track It is founded on God’s word which is this world’s only fact Grace answers all the questions that has never been asked But grace is not enough it’s not complete There is a requirement that I must meet Grace can only work through faith’s decree God’s word lays out the plan and to it I must agree If talent could count I’d just have to fake it There’s just no other way in which I could make it I could reach down deep to my inner most being I’d have to ignore death and keep on breathing Salvation is God’s exclusive gift beyond compare We can’t earn it or learn it and no one else can share Freely given but eternity’s most expensive plan It came via the cross and his blood stained hand R.L.
