Graduate Assistant for College of Education Office of Assessment is seeking two graduate assistants with strong skills in Education Technology! General Description: The College of Education Office of Assessment seeks two graduate assistants to provide educational technology support for students, faculty and staff. This candidate will work with existing as well as potential educational technologies to maintain and improve processes involving student project assignments, evaluations and related assessment data. Primary tenets of the position will be based upon the College of Education continuous improvement model and strategic plan. Specific responsibilities may include: (a) Set up and administer course sites on MU supported course management systems like Sakai and Blackboard, (b) Maintain databases currently used by the offices in Academic Affairs and provide technical support, (c) Develop and provide technical support for online data collection tools like Qualtrics, and (d) Monitor and document current tools, systems and processes. Both the positions will report directly to Dr. Lori Wilcox, Director of Assessment and Certification. Appointment: This half-time GRA position (20 hours per week) for 12 months includes a full tuition waiver. An ideal candidate will be able to retain this position for 1-2 years. This position will begin in July or early August depending on applicant’s schedule. Required Qualifications: • A student enrolled in a College of Education graduate program • Ability to work in a team environment with faculty and administrators • Available to work on MU campus over a 12 month period • Evidence of effective organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to work independently without supervision • Strong computer skills and experience working with spreadsheets, databases, and/or programming Preferred Qualifications: • A candidate pursuing a degree in educational technology or a computer related field • Working knowledge of HTML,CSS, SQL or other RDBMS language, Microsoft Access Application Procedure: Interested applicants should submit the following materials prior to July 10, 2014 for first consideration: • a résumé or curriculum vita, • unofficial copy of transcript, • cover letter and • name/phone of one faculty reference.
