Grandchildren are Grandparents reward for having children. We have 5 children between us who have given us 12 Grandchildren and we thank them. We love them all dearly and equally. As parents we strive to ensure that our children have better lives than we have had and we think that we have succeeded in preparing our children for all the catastrophes and difficulties that they may have to face in their lives. We think that we achieved this. Your children will always be your “children” all of your life, no matter how old they get to be. You will always worry about them and will still try to guide them, improve them and help them with any problems or hurdles they may be experiencing or facing. This is a parents job. In turn, it should be their goal in life to prepare and treat their children, our Grandchildren, in a way that makes them feel in the future that they led a happy and fruitful childhood. The saying is that “Children are our future”. It doesn’t matter if they grow up to be a gardener, doctor or heaven forbid – a politician! They are the future leaders of our world so we should be preparing them not to see “ obstacles” but to face and defeat “challenges”. It’s painful, stressful and expensive bringing up children but in the future you will see it was the most rewarding part of your life.
