Granity friends would you please share this to help people understand we are not in competion with any other group, Guides/ Lyric etc. I am only trying to help a friend out. we are working on starting up the Granity after School programme again. Brenda Larsen and her band of workers provided a beauiful loving environment for children from Granity School to chill out and enjoy themselves on a Friday afternoon. Owing to ill health Brenda is unable to continue with that programme. She found some people to take it over, however that plan didnt pan out. After some months of careful thought, I decided that I could help Brenda provide an after School programme. However as I value my time quite highly, I will help in a way that I can feel at peace with myself. My intention is to work it on a programme developed from the teachings of Lord Baden Powell. This will emulate the Scout programme, however it is not a Scout programme. It will have some things similar to a Guiding programme, however it is in no way competion with a Guiding programme (Guides do not cater for boys). Like Scouts and Guides, there will be a small amount of PRAISE AND WORSHIP, in our programme. The basics will be leadership, achievement and helpfulness. We will have interest certificates which will be tested by an appointed leader. three people have put their hands up to participate in leadership training in the first instance, but we will need helpers. Parents/ caregivers will be asked to help out on one week each term, we will be very happy if anyone will like to help more often. The help will primarily be to have afternoon tea ready for when the children arrive from School and tidy up the afternoon tea things. I ask my Granity friends to share this please so more people can understand what I propose for our Wednesday after School programme.
