Grant and Project Manager – Part time Position - MACWell Mercersburg Area Council for Wellness Summary - The Mercersburg Area Council for Wellness (MACWell) is seeking a Grants and Program Manager. We are searching for an “out of the box” thinker to fill a part-time position with an exciting, new organization planning and building a community trail system with a mission focused on the intersection of nature, health, recreation, and exercise. Utilizing our Walkability/Bikeability Feasibility Study and MACWell’s strategic plan, the administrator will manage current grants, identify continued funding and direct projects. The position is based in Mercersburg, PA. – a rural, historic town with unique opportunity to become a hub of walkability/bikeability as well as connecting to nearby Appalachian Trail and C&O Canal. MACWell is a nonprofit founded in 2009 to create and support a groundswell of community commitment to making our area a place that inspires its population to live well. Position Description – The Grant and Project Manager will be responsible for managing projects, creating the budget, fundraising and writing grants. They will work in collaboration with the MACWell Board and MPMC Steering Committee, reporting directly to the MACWell President. mac4wellness.org mpmcproject.org Responsibilities and Activities Development · Develop and nurture relationships with foundations and donors · Manage current grants, research and write grant proposals appropriate to MACWell strategic plan · Work with board members to develop a financial strategic plan Grant Management · Collect and organize budget details · Prepare and maintain records, in compliance with documentation and disbursement requirements · Work with Treasurer to receive and pay out funds Communications · Maintain consistent contact and collaboration with board members · Coordinate steering committee and board meetings · Handle organization inquiries · Create announcements for events · Notify appropriate press contacts · Support Volunteers Coordinator · Support Events Coordinator · Support PR group in maintaining high quality, consistent look and compelling message of promotional materials · Support newsletter team in producing a quarterly newsletter and an annual report · Coordinate speaker engagements · Attend regional/state conferences · Maintain collaboration with like-minded organizations. · Attend board, steering committee and project meetings, community events, local government meetings · Interact with community, including maintain MACWell office spac Project Management · Support lead persons on projects · Create and manage project timeline & tasks with lead · Coordinate project team meetings · Act as communications point person on projects · Coordinate with professionals and subcontractors and their project activities · Communicate knowledgeably and effectively with local, county and state officials · Supervise interns on project tasks Necessary Skills and Experience · Experience & success in writing grants · Prior work with non-profit boards and skill in creating sustainability · Experience managing and tracking multiple prospects, donors, contacts · Knowledge of current technology and trends in charitable giving · Computer database management experience · Excellent verbal and written communication skills – strong public speaking and telephone skills · Experience developing compelling donor materials · Ability to work with diverse groups and people · Experience in efficient project management · Team building skills · Experience in volunteer coordination · Independent, highly motivated, attentive to detail · Passion for creating healthy living by design Additional Requirements: Willing to travel to county and state meetings – mileage and accommodations reimbursed. (costs must be submitted within 3 weeks) Although living in the community is not a requirement, applicant must be willing to maintain community presence attending events, being on site for projects and meetings, maintaining office hours.
