Grant that as the crucified body of Your dear Son was laid in the tomb and rested on this holy Sabbath, so we may await with Him the coming of the third day and rise with Him to newness of life. We truly live in the between time. Like that Saturday when death had already been defeated but the resurrection was still on the horizon, waiting to be manifested. So we live knowing that death has met its match, that sin has been answered for, and yet waiting for the moment of our own resurrection. We can go to the grave in peace, nonetheless, for there we know we but sleep as Christ did and wait for the sounding of the trumpet and the joyous moment when the Risen One will call our names and we will rise to live with Him forever. Amen!
