Grape Picking Unlike Chapel Down, who use agency workers from Eastern Europe (listen to On Your Farm piece, our previous post) we get local people to come and help with picking which they do in return for wine. Read on for more... We intend starting picking this year on the first weekend in October (4th & 5th). We will almost certainly also pick on the next 2 weekends as well. There will also be some mid-week picking. Payment is in wine only at the rate of £7.- value per hour worked. Our current wines can be viewed here: EnglishOrganicWine.co.uk Please message me with:- • Which weekend dates you would like to help. • Whether or not you can do mid-week picking. • How many people you will be bringing • Your mobile number We normally start at 7.30am and work through until the required area is picked or about 4.30pm, whichever is sooner. If you are unable to get here by 7.30am please indicate what time you can get here. We look forward to seeing you soon! It has been a great year for grape growing and the crop is looking very good in both quality and quantity. I will confirm picking dates a couple of days beforehand, after checking the weather forecast. We do not normally pick if the forecast is for wet weather.
