Gray whales are making their way down south through Ventura County. Boat captains with the Ventura Harbor-based tour company have found close to a dozen a day. “I attribute a lot of that to the weather,” said Alex Brodie, fleet manager with Island Packers. “It’s a lot easier to find them.” The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration urges people to admire them at a distance and take care not to disturb them.
