Great Flood of 2014 Update: It has been two months and two days since the flood that damaged 90% of my house floors and lower walls. We have continued to live out of an 11 x 14 bedroom which was the only room spared from the water. The house is completely empty now with the exception of a mattress, small tv, satellite receiver and a basket of clothes in the room we are staying in. Everything else... Gone!. All closets, cabinets and drawers are empty. All light fixtures, ceiling fans, outlet covers, a/c vents, blinds, curtin rods, etc... Gone! The cats are being boarded while the work is being done.... did I mention the work starts in 7 hours... Woohoo!!!! Thats right, Tuesday morning crews arrive to begin an entire house remodel and makeover! We are so ready for this to be done and are very thankful to be able to do it. Our insurance came through for us and has now paid 100% for flooring replacement and sheet rock repair as well as any other expenditures that were caused by the flood. We are blessed to have the ability to put some money with our settlement and upgrade the old flooring to all hardwood and ceramic tile. No more carpet or linoleum EVER! We are also doing some much needed remodeling as well. My house is 26 years old and has had its share of abuse as we raised our family here. So it time for a fresh new look. So this week is remodel week and the beginning of the end of the great flood saga... LOL. Charlene and I are so looking forward to coming home to a fresh new home. It has been a very trying time but the reward will be so nice. Thanks to you, if you read this far. I apologize for the long read. Just excited to finally get this completed!
