Great Night at the Dardanup art trail opening. Ferguson valley wines, cheese, lots of people and some amazing colourful paintings. The Rust Art bridge was centre stage and was much admired by all. This is how the project developed. From an idea to a drawing. to a full size drawing on the floor ( gunna need a bigger house !! ) cut out with a sharp knife. overlayed 3mm steel plate. Sprayed to get outlines. cutout with plasma. Hand drawn farm scene and cut out. New cool plasma machine cut out lettering and end plates. backed with colorbond to highlight. welded all together. Curled handrail ends in the forge and welded on. Curved floor joists and fitted deck. Oiled and prepared steel for rusting..... Also oiled handrail for a darker more practical surface. So was a lot of fun and really a mix of old blacksmith methods and new plasma cutting. On display at the Dardanup hall this weekend. Rust Art also appearing at the Windmill gallery on Padbury Rd Dardanup. Rust Art on.....
