Great documentary coming up on the Super Channel 4, which I dont get but if anyone can copy it on a disc, I would love to see it. I read Sugar Blues in the 70, which slowed me down on sugar for the first time.... This will air tomorrow Tuesday Jan. 13 and is called FED UP Weighing in on Sugar and the info was..... You may lose your appetite after reading this, but there are 600,000 food items in North America, and 80% of them contain added sugar. This is just the tip of the iceberg in this shocking documentary that shifts the blame for the countrys obesity epidemic off the victim and onto those that are really behind it: the government and big business. Narrated by veteran TV journalist Katie Couric and featuring interviews with such important figures as former president Bill Clinton and author Michal Pollan, Fed Up illustrates the chilling fact that, at the rate the countrys going, over 95% of all Americans will be overweight or obese in two decades and , by 2050, one-third of them will be diabetic. The film is packed with astounding statistics like this, and even mre astounding accusations about the powerful sugar industry and how much sway it holds over government policy-makers, as well as the ways it influences ordinary citizens and their children through pricey advertising campaigns and unhealthy lunch programs. Throughout all this, the filmmakers also ponder what we can do to turn the tide on this growing problem while theres still time. Yes, long but important,..this is .A HUGE ADDICTION...and should be shown as far and as wide as possible. Id love a DVD if anyone copies it, as I said.
