Great lesson or reminder from Ustadh Jalal ibn Saeed A lesson for today is my old quote I used to always repeat Own your Dunya! Dont let your Dunya own you! If you are going to work because you have to, doing a chore because you need to or doing things to protect what you have then you are a slave to what you own, your dunya. Turn it around. You will be glad you did and much happier in life. Go to work because YOU WANT TO, if not then find another job or be grateful Allah gave you a skill and find blessings within it so that you enjoy your work. You will remember it daily and thus you will make an intention to please Allah when going to work. The same with chores and soon you will find Allahs blessings and guidance will protect you and all that you have, Tawakull. All of a sudden you OWN your dunya and not the other way around. Take control of your life, dont let it control you. Its all you got here as a test so dont let it run you through life missing out on all the good deeds. You see, without an intention of pleasing Allah in the tasks, they become slavery to the dunya and useless to your Akhirah. It is all about the intention, so long as the action is in accordance with Deen. Own your Dunya! Dont let your Dunya own you!
