Great news! Remember that other $5M in tax refunds I told you we would send next week? The one to cover up to April 15 status-A filers? My chief fiscal advisor just told me we are increasing the amount to $7.1M. That will cover all of April. That will leave very few refunds to pay after that. DOA is printing the checks tonight and will mail it Monday. This year we paid refunds faster than last year, and last year faster than the year before, and the year before faster than the two decades before that - without a court order. These are facts. One more fact: well get it done even faster next year if were so blessed to continue in office. If you want to know whether my opponent will abide by this same standard, just look at his record. The reason we had to catch up so much with tax refunds is because he started the habit of not paying them. Hell tell you were paying because of a court order, but 1) we started paying within the six-month period nearly a year before the court order came out, and 2) the lawsuit was filed for a failure to pay refunds that started in his administration, not mine. These are all facts, and I have always presented these truthfully and with integrity.
