Great share - give it a read. I will say one thing (admittedly no PhD here) I believe she misses an even more important point. And that is that this educational path we set our children on is a dangerous one. We expect them to be far too advanced at an equal level. We can not level the playing field for human intelligence. Each individual brings a different strength. Watch Race To Nowhere! Instead of spending local and federal dollars on creating new, advanced testing, lets get more good teachers in the classrooms. Allow each childs intelligence to grow under watchful, caring eyes. Lets ask more questions and ponder more answers. Lets guide each child in an ever burgeoning and complicated world. Good people make good change happen. Invest in the future by investing in our children and giving them a chance through guidance and time to find their place on the road. Thats how we can strengthen and support the future NOT with more rigorous testing thats out of line with needs and expectations.
