Great showing by the people of the Rockaways today at the Mayors Press conference in Far Rock. The protest/demonstration was peaceful and dignified. Special props to local journalists Katie Honan Mark Healey and Miriam Rosenberg for speaking up for the Rockaway residents and asking Mayor de Blasio some hard and direct questions about the Rockaway Ferry, the FEMA reimbursement money, and preparedness for future disasters on the peninsula. The Mayor hinted at some major programs and plans for the Rockaways in the future. Only time will tell.
