Great teamwork with our School District Yesterday at Sunlake HS a student wearing a long trench style coat stated to another student that he had guns in his jacket. Your Sheriffs Office responded immediately with overwhelming numbers of deputies and worked extremely well with the administration, teachers, and members of Sunlake HS. The student was arrested for disruption of a school function. Although it is extremely sad that a student would cause alarm and great concern to the lives of their fellow students, this incident demonstrated the great relationship and partnership we have with the school district, Superintendent Kurt Browning, our School Board, and the outstanding women and men that work in our schools. I thought it was important to put this out because our childrens safety is very important to us and it is comforting to know that your Sheriffs Office and School District work extremely well together to make sure they are safe.
