Great trials Special Gospel of the day: John21:15-19(September10, 2013-Tuesday) John 21:15-19-So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee: Matthew 22:37-40-Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and “great commandment.” And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Hebrews 13:8-Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. If ever Jesus will ask each one of us if we love Him, what will be our answer? Do you know that we are like Peter who was a sinner? In Romans 3:10-As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one. Take note, Jesus asked Peter because He was “doubtful” due to his denial when they were persecuted. Peter loved Jesus in “calm situations” but during their “great trials,” he rejected Jesus easily. In the same manner, we are like Peter that we love God in “good and smooth situations” of our lives but in times of difficulties, we easily abandon God. How deep your love in God? Remember, Peter denied Jesus three times and this is an implication that we fall many times as human as we are. Matthew 18:22-Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. This is proven in the “status of Peter” when Jesus entrusted him the “church and forgave him immediately.” This is a concrete proof that “Jesus is full of love, mercy and forgiveness to all sinners.” Are you a sinner?
