Great video about how evolution has actually primed us to be kind to one another, and how excessive wealth creates a compassion deficit in human beings. Most people think that Darwin had this idea of survival of the fittest, that its the most ruthless and bloodthirsty who really thrive and survive. That is not Darwins view of human evolution at all. He really felt that sympathy is the strongest instinct that humans have. The leading Darwinist 2.0, the great biologist E.O. Wilson, had the same considerations. While good or bad has no moral implications from an evolutionary point of view, our rational as well as empathic talents should enable us to adopt a humanist approach; good and bad may not be human by origin, but the distinction is humanist, although not always that clear.
