Greedy government. Greedy companies. Brag about your profits, but complain that you cant pay Canadians more to do certain jobs so you need to hire foreign workers. This is Canadas form of sweatshop labour. Wages are one of the biggest jokes in this country, even in Alberta where they are better. Working residents cant afford to live in Banff or Canmore, yet millions of tourists still spend hundreds of millions of dollars there every year. You mean to tell me Banff Springs Hotel couldnt raise wages and cut into their profit. Of course they COULD, but thats not how corporations work. I know so many people who have left those towns because they cant afford the cost of living. Its a real shame we are driving Canadians out of Canadas most wonderful places. (note: I know a lot of Banff businesses that are feeling this way are not the big mighty Banff Springs, and are independently owned, but BSH was quotes in this article, and I used to work there, so...)
