Greenpeace International released new report on Hazardous chemicals in branded textile products, including Adidas, Puma and Nike. Hormone-disrupting Nonylphenol ethoxylates were detected in 61% of fabric tested, reprotoxic phthalates in 33 of 35 articles, organotin compounds, perfluorinated chemicals used as stain and water treatments, Including highly persistent and toxic compounds eg PFOA and PFDA. Some levels were extraordinarily high. This study included articles manufactured in at least 12 different countries, sold by 12 different major clothing brands and purchased in 25 countries/regions around the world.
