Greeting Pennell Families and Happy Friday! FINALLY! A full week of school! Dr. Seuss Night is this coming Monday, March 17th at Sun Valley High School! Please plan to bring the whole family for a night of fun activities! The event will start at 6:00 pm and ends at 7:30 pm. IMPORTANT REMINDERS: PSSA testing is coming up! We will be testing 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade the weeks of March 24th and March 31st. Testing typically takes 3 to 4 hours each morning. During this period, we schedule our specials for grades 3-5 in the afternoons to allow ample time for the assessment. 1st and 2nd grade will have their special during the morning for these two weeks. The PTL has asked homeroom parents to send out a Sign-up Genius for PSSA snacks and water to be sent in. These are part of several motivational initiatives to make the testing period as “fun” as possible for our students. All 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade parents, a letter was sent home last week regarding the PSSA Assessment. Please be sure to send in a motivational message for your child, and as always, please support them in getting a solid night’s rest and a hearty breakfast! It goes without saying that attendance is extremely important to your child’s social and academic development and progress. The Pennell office closely tracks student attendance and will send home letters when tardiness or attendance becomes excessive. PLEASE do your very best to get your child to school on time, every day. FRIENDLY REMINDERS: PTL Bingo Night is scheduled for TONIGHT, Fri. March 14 in the Northley Cafeteria. Doors open @ 6 pm for dinner and BINGO is from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. Please come out with your family to ENJOY a night of Bingo, prizes, raffles, food, baked goods, and fun!!! The PTL will be selling delicious baked goods and need as many treats as possible! Please help out by bringing a baked good to donate for sale. If you have any questions, please email ptl4pennell@gmail. The next PTL meeting is scheduled for Tues. April 8th at 6:30 pm in the Pennell library. We very much hope to see you there! As always, thank you for your support! Best Regards! Mr. Shawn Dutkiewicz, Pennell Elementary Principal
