Greetings All: On behalf of the City of Flint, I want to invite you to a day of preparedness education and remembrance of the events of 9/11. Please see the attached flyer and distribute through your networks. The morning of this coming Thursday, September 11th, the City will be hosting in partnership with the Red Cross Genesee-Lapeer Chapter, an emergency preparedness educational session at the Brennan Senior Center located at 1301 Pingree Ave. from 10am-11:30am. Well share emergency kits with those income eligible, provide instruction on how to make your own, discuss safe home exit routes and community strategies as well as where to go for more information. Following, a free lunch will be provided for those 60 years and older along with shuttle transportation to City Hall. That afternoon from 1-3pm, on the front lawn of City Hall, a commemorative ceremony will be held. Well hear from Fire, Police, Veterans and volunteers as we discuss how to make the community a safer, more engaged and unified place to live, work and play. Entertainment acts will include the singing of the Star Spangled Banner by Danielle Brown, Executive Director of the Christ Enrichment Center, and youth presentations from Studio on the Go. Please join us! If you are interested in lunch or shuttle transportation following the morning preparedness educational session, please call Deborah Holmes at (810) 766-7238 or email brennanseniorcorporation@gmail. These events are free and open to the public. We look forward to seeing you. Please distribute widely.
