Greetings Cherry Readers! On March 20 (in America), I would like you to conduct a little experiment in contemplation. At the exact moment of the spring equinox, meditate, pray, be silent, become receptive, or just plain get curious. Why? With a minimum of research you will discover that civilizations scattered across the globe, going as far back in time as pleases you, paid special attention to the equinoxes and solstices. A statue on Easter Island faces exactly due east. The cathedral Notre Dame in Chartres France has a tiny pane of clear glass embedded in the middle of a stain glass window that only once a year, on the day of the spring equinox, allows sunlight to completely illuminate a bronze pin embedded in the stone floor. The American Indians aligned their sweat lodges to cliff outcroppings or a point of a mountain peak so the sun would eclipse that point exactly with the Spring equinox, Stonehenge has these kinds of alignments, and much much more throughout the world. This is a wonderful study. Your library and computer will have tons of information about it. But all I’m asking is that you conduct an experiment, not believe anything. Simply observe this moment of the year in some sort of contemplation and see if you get results. Isn’t playing astrology fun? In the United States, the equinox comes on March 20 2014: 12:57 p.m EDT, 11:57 a.m. CDT, 10:57 a.m. MDT or 9:57 a.m. PDT. In Australia, this is called the Autumn Equinox, and occurs on March 21, at 3:57 am AEDT. In Great Britain, it occurs on March 20 at 4:57 p.m. GMT. Jon Hassinger
