Greetings! Following Christ we cannot go astray. Keep up our good “ora et labora,” and God bless you! F. Philip, OSB In their grave sin, the Israelites who sinned, placed themselves at enmity with God. However, Moses takes up his role as intercessor with God and pleads for their forgiveness. God, of course, in his justice and mercy, will forgive any sin as long as there is sincere repentance, as long as one contributes meaningfully to the development of the mustard seed, of the yeast, of the Kingdom of God. So God tells Moses: “go and lead the people to the place I have told you. My angel will go before you.” Finally, all people of good will are led to the promised land of eternity upon their crossing over. Only those who refuse to follow and finally accept their role in Christ’s Kingdom will be excluded. They have a chance as long as there is a breath of life left in them, but when this is finished, the time is up. Ours is to habituate ourselves increasingly, not in a forced way, but in a gradual but definite way to allowing God’s Word to take us over completely.
