Greetings in the mighty name of Jesus, on this 19th day of October - TopicsExpress

Greetings in the mighty name of Jesus, on this 19th day of October 2014, my friends! Acts 14:8-10 “And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mothers womb, who never had walked: 9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, 10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.” Do you believe? How long have you been sitting there, crippled by circumstances, bound by bad memories, hurts, pain, self-inflicted trauma, sickness and disease? Some of us were born with several strikes against us; dealt hands that were not conducive to good success; and have faced or are facing issues that by most reasonable standards, should keep us paralyzed for the rest of our lives. But the question this morning/today is: Do you believe? Do you believe the word of God that says “There is nothing too hard for God?” Here is a man, introduced to us in the text (Acts 14:8-10), who was “a cripple from his mother’s womb.” He had no hand in what took place during the reproductive processes. He could not be accused of causing his feet to reject the natural biological order of things that under normal conditions would have produced strength and movement in his feet. He was innocent of any charge, we’d have liked to put on him. But friends, we are living in a world that’s been tainted by sin; and every one of us must deal with its imperfections; and battle hardships, sickness, death and destruction. Thank God for grace. Grace says “Have faith in God” (Mark 11:22). But how does one get faith? Romans 10:17 tells us: “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” The man with the crippled feet, heard Paul spoke. And he believed. Hallelujah! Have you heard the word of God spoken at any time in your life? And if so, do you believe? This man heard the word and Paul “perceived that he had faith to be healed.” Glory to God! Jesus declared in Mark 11:23-24 “For verily I say unto you that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, what things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Again, I ask the question: Do you believe? Or has doubt cancelled out and crippled your faith in God? Hebrews 11:1, defines faith this way “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Faith is not just wishful thinking. In essence, we are hoping for something to happen that can only occur in the natural, if and only if, God intervenes and orchestrates the results, based on our unmitigated, unrelenting confidence in, and obedience to His word.” God wants to set us free today. We have heard the word; and now it’s up to us to believe. Child of God, like that man in our text, you might have been born with all strikes against you but I’ve come with a word from the Lord this morning/today: “Have faith in God” (Mark 11:22). Speak to that dead, crippled situation; command that thing, in the name of Jesus to cease and desist. You have been bound for far too long; “Stand upright on your feet.” The man who heard the word and believed, received his miracle. His faith had crippled the thing that had crippled him. Like that man, begin to ‘leap and walk” in victory, in Jesus’ name. Have a blessed day!
