Greetings robot fans. I feel that theres been a lack of conversational activity in here so I feel like bringing in an important subject for us to talk about. The subject today, Whats wrong with Gundam G No(on) Reconguista? I think I can identify the main problem with G-Reco. It severely lacks world building. G-Reco may be taking place in the future of the Universal Century, but this timeline is completely different with its past and has little to no connections to UC Century except a few references here and there. Tomino barely shows and never really explains on what has changed overtime from the days of classic Gundam, yet he expects us to figure it out as we go along and not stop. Im a loyal Gundam fan, but it pains me to say that I feel that Tomino has made the weirdest and worst Gundam shows I have ever seen. And I freakin hate SEED Destiny from the bottom of my heart and I think its better than G-Reco. Also, the dialogue is way too old for this anime. Like movie acting from the 1920s and having it happen in a modern day style movies. Or doing the jitterbug to Kanye West songs. It just doesnt work. The lines theyre delivering arent good. Not only that its randomness seems out of place. Like when Bellris mom enters her office and just laughs and that was it. Or when The Mask kept using the word Barara, as a curse word (or something) on Episode 9. What does that mean? I looked and it doesnt seem to have any real meaning. If someone does know what it means, please tell me. Also the voice acting is shockingly bad. It could be that Tomino has been forcing the VAs to make their voices natural, but he doesnt seem to understand that voice acting techniques have changed overtime. They were trained and train themselves to use other voices but their own. Why does everybody love the Jokers voice from Batman TAS? Because Mark Hamil worked hard on it and perfected it on his own. Tomino is forcing these VAs to do everything his way and not letting them improve in their own way. I love Tomino and respect his work, but I have to say, he needs to go back into retirement. Tomino, your washed up and your writing and directing skills have shown to have deteriorated with age
