Greetings tall ship Lynx followers, Check out the Douglas fir sections that captain Lohse has cut up for Lynxs new foretopmast. Captain Lohse and his crew are doing many tasks to keep Lynx, in the best of shape while at the shop in Cape Charles, Va. The topmast from here will receive coats of epoxy in the glue up phase of building. Much stronger than a solid pole, captain Lohse will shape the new mast section and create the heel plus incert a steel fid into the heel where the foretop and foremast connect. Our crew with Sam Imes cheif mate and Becca Hopkins as 2nd are skilled in the many aspects of traditional sailing and the accepted time proven skills pasted down of maintaining this fine vessel.
