Grigory Samuilovich Frid was born on September 22, 1915, in Russia. He came from an intellectual Jewish background; his father founded a music Journal and his mother was a St Petersburg Conservatory trained pianist, and Frids first teacher. He became a well known composer of music in many different genres, including chamber opera. Frid is best known for his opera based on Anne Franks diary; enjoy an bit of it here (I have a complete version of it for sale at the store).
