Grocery shopping in Robbins was easy if you went to the “ Piggly Wiggly .” They had most things that you needed plus magazines and novelties in the check-out aisle. The also had a ‘’ drink machine’’ that dispensed your favorite Nehi orange, grape, RC , Upper Ten and Diet Rite Cola. The ‘’ Piggly Wiggly’’ wasn’t the only grocery store though. You could go toward Mr. Monroe’s Esso Station and immediately on your right, before the Esso, was Park’s Grocery. It was smaller than Piggly Wiggly but nonetheless had a lot of what you might need displayed in a more ‘’ intimate setting. ‘’ If you went down the street a bit further, on the left was Craig’s Superette. People liked to stop there too because it was convenient. Even if you did not go into ‘Craig’s Superette’ you would always drive through the parking lot while you were ‘’ cutting town ‘’ so you may as well pick up your six -pack of RC cola while you were there...
