Gross, weird, but true: 5 lessons to the youth of today…. 1. Learn to cover your poop. If you don’t, the smell will haunt you and the next time you walk that way, you will step on it. There’s nothing cool about doing private things in public. Learn to distinguish between the two. (Deut. 23:12-14) 2. Dishonour kills. Whoever told you that age is just a number lied to you. Remember what happened to those 42 youth who chanted “get out of here, baldy!” as old Elisha passed by? We may not have 2 bears to maul you these days but disrespecting elders is a clear invitation for misfortune. (1 Kings 2:23-24) 3. Never sell your birth right. Beware of sibling rivalry and parental favouritism. Be wary about the dangers of being overly ambitious. Guard your identity. Your integrity is way more worth that a bowl of soup. Don’t sell it – for anything. (Gen 25:30-34) 4. If God says do it, then do it. But be sure it’s God speaking. It may not make sense. It may even be weird or disgusting. His ways are not our ways. Just do it. He has a greater purpose to achieve and you are but a tiny part in His giant plan. Let God be God (Hosea 1-3) 5. Beware who’s cutting your hair! Strength and weakness are two sides of the same coin. Your enemy isn’t always far away. For all you know, you might be dining, drinking or sleeping with them.
