Group Calls For Reinstatement Of Lecturer BENIN CITY- The Stakeholders on Conflict Resolution and Early Warning (SCREW), has called on the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Prof. Osayuki Oshodin, to reinstate Mr. Iduemre Ochuko of the Department of Sociology who was victimized by the Dean of faculty of social science of the institute in 2010 for no just cause. This was contained in a statement signed by the Executive Director/Ex-Chairman, Committee for the Defence of Human Right (EDHR), Edo State, Comrade Igbotako Nowinta. According to the statement, Mr. Iduemre Ochuko was appointed Assistant lecturer in 2010 and via an appointment letter, while the council of the University approved it. Two weeks later, another letter was issued to him withdrawing the letter earlier of regularization on the premise that it was issued in error. Mr. Ochuko took the matter to the public complaint commission (PCC), Edo State office which investigated the matter and discovered that it was a perfect case of victimization. SCREW therefore urged Prof. Oosayuki Oshodin to align himself with the path of justice and equity by reinstating Mr. Iduemre Ochuko as lecturer in the Department of sociology.
