Growing up I wanted to be famous. I wanted to be a professional in - TopicsExpress

Growing up I wanted to be famous. I wanted to be a professional in the art of dance, I wanted to be the next Dominique Moceanu, and then I wanted to be Sandra Bullock. I eventually gave up on those dreams to strive for what I think I was a destined to be, an EMT. I dont do it for money, I sure as heck dont do it for fame, and to some I just drive an ambulance that takes no brains at all. But to me it is my gold medal. It is a prize to finally be doing something I love. Something that isnt just that one winning moment in time. Something I can learn and grow at each and every day. Its stressful, and challenging, and true some times I wander how the heck I ended up here, but in the end it all makes perfect sense. It may be what I do for a living and it is hard to leave behind when my shift ends. But it is my sport, my best movie, the best story ever written. I worked hard to be where I am today and will never regret the choice I made. It isnt just saving lives. It is also a thrill to know you have the knowledge and training to make the right decision. You figured out the hard 1000 piece puzzle, you made a person smile or laugh. You are the comfort that person needs in a time of worry and chaos. This is my life and though it isnt all peaches and cream, I wouldnt have it any other way.
