"Growing up in Compton California, graduating Stanford University and becoming an All-Pro NFL cornerback has taught me many lessons in life. My experiences taught me that no path is easy, however with a strong education and the proper tools anything can be achieved. I have begun my quest to improve the education of young people that live in the communities I have a personal connection to and I am asking for your support. I am committed to helping those in my community that are enduring similar circumstances. Therefore, with the aid of my family and friends I have started “Blanket Coverage” The Richard Sherman Family Foundation. My foundation has chose to channel its resources to ensure that as many children as possible can be provided with the proper school supplies and adequate clothing. I am hosting a memorable dinner and auction event on July 6th, 2013. This event will serve as the formal launch of “Blanket Coverage” The Richard Sherman Family Foundation. It will be held at on the 74th floor of the Columbia Tower in Seattle, at The Columbia Tower Club. I would be honored if you would join me as my guest. We will not only be explaining the purpose of the foundation, but also how we intend to reach out to those who need our support. I have room for only 250 of my closest friends, teammates and business partners. Thank you to all of my teammates who have already reserved their tables. It means a lot to have your support.
