Growing up in Hyde Park, New York, we did not have cable TV, didnt need to have it either. We had TV antennas mounted on the roofs of nearly every home and we picked up the local TV stations from either New York City or from the New York capital city, Albany and nearby city of Schenectady. Hyde Park was between the two major city areas. One of the NYC TV stations was W.P.I.X. station channel 11. the other major station down there was W.W.O.R. TV station 9. Here is a video of what WPIX had on TV as a staple of shows when I was growing up. While it brings back fond memories to me, I realize just how demented crazy it all was back then too. I was most fond of the action/drama/comedic shows, and not the cartoon ones. It sure brings back memories though. I also enjoyed a show on WOR called The Million Dollar Movie often. Do you have memories of television in your area growing up? Care to share? youtu.be/Njs9NuDopC4
