Growing up in charismatic Christianity, at least in MY experience, I was never introduced to KWANZAA. It was quite frankly mysterious, foreign & for some reason, not looked upon in the best light. In many cases, it seems that people generally FEAR what is different or what they dont UNDERSTAND. Thankfully, I let go of fear a long time ago & am thankful I did. (So wait...you mean to tell me that Kwanzaa has an actual MEANING based on real life PRINCIPLES?? LOL YES!) HIP-HOP introduced me to some of these, namely Kujichogulia, or determination, via Black Stars song K.O.S., but Ill get into that tomorrow. For those unaware like I was, its NEVER too late to learn something new! Check out the following principles, and then imagine if these were MORE celebrated amongst my people...Black people.
