Growing up in the late 80s, the most important hour of TV during weekdays was YO MTV RAPS! (back when MTV played music) Thats how we found out about Public Enemy, KRS 1 and Boogie Down Productions, Slick Rick, Digital Underground, NWA, Eric B and Rakim, Nice and Smooth, MC Lyte and so many more.
