Growth is Never Easy - I’ll never forget my sons, as they tried to walk for the first time. What a lot of work! And, what a lot of courage and tenacity; time after time they fell, and time after time they rose unsteadily to try again. Little did they know that such a scenario would mark their lives for the rest of their physical existence! As we trained for our 10k running events, sometimes the tears of frustration were scalding; but they led us all to the joy of crossing the finish line together. And, as I look back on my 55 years of living, I see that those times when I suffered most were also those times I experienced the most emotional, physical and spiritual growth. Knowing that makes everyday just that much easier to bear. I’d like to remind you that you’ve been tempered by your loss; it has made you keenly aware of the value of living, and sharing your life with those you love. Each of us is always changing, growing, learning; and perhaps this mantra will help you pass the coming days, weeks and months, with greater ease: “I will grow today as a person.
