Ive been blasting the opening track our hero Star Lord dances to in the beginning of Guardians of the Galaxy. In my underwear on a quiet day, Redbones: Come and get your love blasting. Like bad 80s movie, all I lacked was a strange alien rat to snatch and sing into like Peter Quill of the Guardians of the Galaxys epic opening. Chris Pratts transformation into that character is a far cry from Hemsworths Thor and iambic pantameter. He seemed to be the next Robert Downey Jr. in playing yourself, as the hero model of how to be a successful marvel screen character. With it revealed in the ending parts of Guardians that his father may not be from earth after all; we see a real possible tie here to the upcoming Ms.Marvel film. Why? Its all Kree baby. Kree blood on earth can mean a much more powerful than human, er...human. Take Skye from Marvels Agents of Shield for example. Its her possible Kree blood that made her use of the same chemical that healed Coulson; without all the craziness and hair loss. Without getting too deep into the comics, it will be clearer that Asgardians are more powerful than humans at a level similar to how Kree are as well. With what we know of Carol Danvers, aka Ms. Marvel getting her powers from being Kree, we see a common ground here. The mystery being who Star lords father truly is. (Coulson??!...joking) We all await her super powers in the show, but will she enter the silver screen marvel cinematic universe timeline? (or MCU for short) 2017 is our announced release date for the sequel to this summers outrageously fun Guardians of the Galaxy. Interestingly? Its incredibly well-thought direction from James Gunn (director of horror flick Slither) was already planning a sequel from day one. We here at Dumb Struck Magazine snapped up this response to being asked about the sequel: “I spent all day on August 1, the day the first movie was released, writing ‘Guardians 2.’ I was so excited about it and I was finally able to let go of the last one and begin the second one. I always saw this as a universe, not just as one story.” He isnt far off. As film 10 (yes ten, arent we all getting old) films in on the MCU and we definitely see a universe here being made. Something befitting of the comic books as they reach the same status. Creating a canonical universe if movies and tv that all are interconnected.
