Gucci is pleased to be among the designers to dress singer/songwriter Beyoncé for her Mrs. Carter Show tour in a series of one-of-a-kind outfits designed by Creative Director Frida Giannini. The tour will open on September 8 in Brazil and will subsequently travel to Venezuela, Mexico, and Puerto Rico this month. Beyoncé provided a special preview of two of the Gucci one-of-a-kind outfits at her New York shows in August: a fully embroidered mini dress embellished with metallic sequins and feathers in a degrade effect from taupe to deep red; and a black embroidered three quarter sleeve V-neck optical beaded top and white silk stretch trousers. The Latin American tour will unveil additional looks that Giannini has created for Beyoncé. Giannini said, “Designing for Beyoncé was great fun as she always puts on an amazing live show. I wanted the outfits to bring to life the assertive, powerful femininity I see in her performances. Her sheer talent, work ethic and uncompromised authenticity are her defining characteristics.” This collaboration comes after Frida Giannini invited Beyoncé and Salma Hayek Pinault to join forces with her earlier this year to found CHIME FOR CHANGE, an ongoing global campaign to convene, unite and strengthen the voices speaking out for girls and women around the world. A CHIME FOR CHANGE manifesto film, narrated by Salma Hayek Pinault with music by Beyoncé, will screen with Portuguese and Spanish subtitles to Latin American audiences as part of the Mrs. Carter Show tour. Beyonce will also promote a local project in support of girls and women in Latin America through her curated projects on CHIME FOR CHANGE.
