PRAHLAD ,Professor of Business Administration and corporate strategy at the University of Michigen,requests the Indian corporate world to wake up and help create a consumer market in the rural areas.He asks them to retain their grip on the vast domestic market.In his book Fortune at the Bottom of the pyramid, he has addressed the rural market scenario especially in the Indian context.He says that The bottom of the pyramid is very large and represents a very counter intuitive opportunity.It is a transformative challenge.It is an age -old assumption that rural folks do not have the money to buy manufactured goods.Well that was then and things have changed.Success in rural market requires deep understanding of rural emotions,aspiration,needs and greeds,which are different from the urban psyche...........once u also study this book especially for management students...........thanku.....
