Guidetti: An honour to pull on the Celtic jersey WITH nine goals in nine games so far, it would seem that the grass is definitely greener for Celtic striker, John Guidetti but another notch on the goalpost arrived yesterday when he was announced as the SPFL Premiership Player of the Month for October. After missing out on last night’s European action against FC Astra, the Swede is keen to get back in action against Aberdeen this Sunday. He said: “I have been given an opportunity and I’m playing with great players in front of amazing fans who help me, and the manager is believing in me and giving me an opportunity. “To be fair, it didn’t go too well for me for two years and the reason is because I was injured, it wasn’t because I was playing badly. When the opportunity was given to me, I took it and I’ll try to do my best. “So I don’t see those two years as me playing badly, or not doing well because injuries happen in football. “But I think that made me stronger as it built me as a person and probably made me a better footballer and makes me so much more grateful for the position I am in just now. “I just try to do my best and it’s going good so I’m happy of course.” He added: “It’s fantastic here, unbelievable as I said and I can’t complain. I’m playing with one of the biggest clubs in the world. It’s just an absolute pleasure and it’s an honour to put on the Celtic jersey. “I look forward to every single game I play and I’m loving life. The hit-man is aware of the calls to make his loan move from Manchester City more permanent. He said: “That’s something I have to look at, of course but I’m just trying to stay focused on my football and I’ve just got to keep doing well. “I’ve got lots of great things to look forward to, we’ve got Hearts in the Scottish Cup, we’ve got Rangers in the League Cup and hopefully we’ll go to the finishing stages of the Europa League and there is the league. “We have so many goods things to look forward to so I don’t want to look ahead too much as there are so many great things happening just now. “If you look to far ahead then you are missing out on the good bits that happen right now. “I just want to cherish the moment I’m in and just enjoy every day and have a smile on my face and go in and play for Celtic, right now I’m really, really happy.”
