Gunmen kill Female Butcher in Benin .As NBA threatens boycott over Edo Judge abduction Gunmen kill female Butcher in Benin From Osaigbovo Iguobaro, Benin The unabated leadership crises rocking the Nigerian Butchers association, Edo State chapter assumed a frightening dimension, following the reported claimed the life of a female butcher. The victim was allegedly shot and killed in Iwinasogie street, Aduwawa Community in Ikpoba-Okha local government area of Edo State. Reports have it that the victim, Mrs. Bose Iwinanogie, aged 44, was killed few metres from her residence on her way to work. But it could not be independently verified the time the butcher was killed. The assailants were said to have parked their car at a distance and waited for their victim to step out of her residence and was shot at a close range and left in her own pool of blood It was learnt that help was not within reach due deplorable road leading to the scene of crime. Mrs Iwinogie was said to be leading a faction of the Edo State Butchers Association operating from the New Benin Market Meat Sellers Association extension in Oredo local government area of the State. She was also said to be among the members that attended the butchers meeting with a Civil Commissioner in the State who attempted to broker peace in the troubled union recently. Spokesman for the association, Osagie Osatohanmwen said there has been a threat on the life of the deceased. Police spokesman, Moses Eguavoen confirmed the killing and said police was already investigating. Eguavoen said no arrest has been made, adding that an autopsy would be conducted on the victim. "The police is investigating. Her corpse has been deposited at the Guobadia mortuary. We will get at the perpetrators and bring them to book". Meanwhile, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), has resolved boycott of all courts within Edo State indefinitely, pending the unconditional release of the State High court Judge who was reportedly abducted by gunmen on Monday. In a terse statement jointly endorsed by NBA, Benin branch Chairman, Oriane Akhere and Secretary, Collins Ogiegbae, explained that the decision is in protest of Justice Daniel Iyobosa Okungbowa along with his driver who was kidnapped. ``The Federal High court, Benin Division, all High courts of Justice within Edo State, the Magistrate courts, the Customary courts and the District Customary courts until he is released by his abductors’’, it said.
