Gussie Miller, 60, of Independence, died Monday at North Oaks Hospital from injuries suffered after a car literally flew across Interstate 55 and crashed into her vehicle, state police said. The wreck happened about 10 a.m. on I-55 near Interstate 12. Clifford Durio, 31, of LaPlace, has been booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on multiple charges. Police said high speed was a major contributing factor and Durios vehicle was airborne and upside down when it crashed into Millers.
