Guymon, Oklahoma – Skeeter “Yes, that’s my real name” Crawford, 61, died Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. The son of Ruby Lee (Howard) and Roscoe M. Crawford, Skeeter Bob was born July 29, 1952, in Guymon. He graduated from Hardesty High School in 1970. A roaming Panhandle native, Skeeter has made friends all over the country and tried to make every town he lived a better place. He invested in people, their joy and friendship. Skeeter Crawford never met a stranger and would tell anyone a story, true or false, and then later, pull a prank on them. His smile was infectious and his laughter was it’s only cure. Skeeter worked many years in tire service and in auto sales. He was a longtime member and received much strength and support from his church family at the Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by two daughters, Tosha Linn of Palmer, Alaska; Tawny Linn of Big Lake, Alaska; son, Benjamin A. Crawford and his girlfriend, Laura Bladen of Guthrie, Oklahoma, and two granddaughters, Hope and Kiana Colwell. He is also survived by two sisters, Beverly and husband, David Klingaman of Chandler, AZ; Sherry Crawford-Branecky of Alamosa, CO; and his lifelong friend that he loved like a brother, Dicky Bryan of Guymon; sister-in-law, Barbara Crawford; and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Dereld Crawford, a sister, DeeAnn Moore and her husband, Dean Moore, and a son, Eric Crawford. Memorial services will be Monday afternoon, May 19, 2:00 PM at the Church of the Nazarene, 2214 N Sunset, Guymon, with Rev. Wayne Dawson and Rev. Terry Armstrong, officiating. Memorials may be given to the Nazarene Youth, c/o Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, P.O. Box 1306, Guymon, OK 73942.
