Glow, A Cork Christmas Celebration, presented by Cork City Council, runs again until December 21st, Fridays to Sundays. A festive family favourite, this year’s festival on Grand Parade has something for everyone; Ireland’s largest Ferris Wheel for a flight 30m above Cork with stunning views of the city’s skyline, vintage carousel, live entertainment, artisan local food markets, a pop up crafts market with Cork Craft and Design, where visitors can stock up on a variety of festive goodies and gifts, Carols by Candlelight event, shopping in Cork city’s unique boutiques and gift shops and much more. The highlight of Glow is a free festively themed attraction for children at Bishop Lucey Park, which opens from 4pm-8pm Friday to Sunday next to the markets on Grand Parade. The park will be transformed into a Victorian Christmas pop-up story-book of Twas the Night Before Christmas. Visitors will literally be able to wander through a lifesize book, featuring scenes and live characters from the story.
