Guys I believe I will renegotiate with the Ag Director General and the board of governors to keep the attendance at least approx. 20-30% compulsory, because as what I can see, most of you are against not counting it at all. As someone said attendance is a mean to inculcate punctuality and responsibility. One more good news, I believe August is the lucky month for us. Our negotiations for having work placements for students compulsory is being given thought to with great concern, which means we will be able to look for companies to hire some for work placements and others may look for their desired companies. Also as you all may remember we promised to secure an sponsorship for the construction of a relaxation area. It will be near/above the common room. Hopefully the construction will begin shortly. We secured this funding after a negotiation with the Minister of tertiary education science research and technology, Dr Jeetha. In addition the pool tables will be sent for fixation and will be as good as new very soon. And it was a pleasure meeting the freshers of the School of Innovative Technologies and Engineering (SITE), we hope you were not bored after so many speeches :P . Tomorrow we look forward to welcome freshers from the School of Sustainable Development and Tourism (SSDT). Kind Regards, Kushal Kirtydev Kutwaroo President UTM Students Union Contact No. 58296762
