Guys like Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown and thousands of others - TopicsExpress

Guys like Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown and thousands of others did not die because they threatened the lives of their assailants. They died because they threatened the egos of their assailants. When someone who perceives themselves as or is granted authority by the establishment is disrespected by a class inferior the shame they feel is psychologically unbearable. It’s unbearable enough when it is verbal but if the authority figure applies or implies physical force and they are still disrespected than the shame often turns into blind rage which results in the killing of their class inferior. Could Martin’s or Brown’s assailants really go home after being beat up by what their cultures establishment media describes as animals, useless, thugs and other names depicting class inferiority? Could they go on with their lives and face their families and colleagues with any kind of dignity knowing that they were bested by a class inferior that is still roaming free? That is a tremendous amount of weight for anyone’s ego to carry much less someone like a police officer who the establishment describes as noble, honorable, upstanding, heroic and just. And all of that weight can go away with one simple pull of a trigger. Just one second of injustice to spare themselves and their community the indignity of class disorder. After all who is the respectable class of society going to stand behind a useless thug who is dead and probably deserved it anyway or a noble upstanding hero of the community? When all you need to say to justify your action is that you were afraid for your life the decision can be frighteningly easy to make.
