Guys ..(reptile freaks) Here is some food for thought... People buy animals . Some live a long time.. some only a few years... Some love the little world you create .. some require a huge environmet .. Some only care that they have water and a cricket. Some actually are intelligent enough to be effected by change . Such as a log moved in enclosure. . Or diet adjustments. . Or temperature and humidity changes... So when you see adds on TV saying.. dogs are a forever pet .. dont spontaneously purchase a pup because it will last 10 to 15 years ... IMAGINE THIS.. Lace monitors are cool. They are very intelligent. They require a huge environment. And they get attached to you and its routine. .food and environment. . AND THEY LAST 50 YEARS through you moving house. Through you loosing job. Through you going through relationship issues. Through you getting sick. Through you getting old. So when you see me or some other keeper with a very large and potentially dangerous animal..if raised the wrong way.. Remember these guys are for the LOOOOONG haul. They are not a fashion accessory. .. They are not a game.. They have a heart. A personality. So think very very hard about flicking those few dollars down to buy one . Ask yourself .. Where will I be in 50 years.. and will this lizard still be with me.. If not.. dont buy.. Let only your passing be the reason this animal will be traumatized by passing it from piller to post... Rant over
