Gypsy Wind started from Ovens Island before Sunrise to make the slack water at Porlier Pass to enter the Straights of Georgia. Calm as you can see on the inside. But the wind was piping opposite the flooding current. Made for beating into wild mixmaster seas. Sailed some with single reef + 20k wind. Tacked on lifts and kept Gypsy Wind moving well. Arrived Mainland side just north of Howe Sound. Beat north short tacking to catch the back eddies along the BC mainland shore. We loved it all! Especially sailing thru Welcome Pass. To beautiful Garden Bay. We will sleep right tonight boat after scrubbing the salt off. BBQ Salmon fresh pasta in the cockpit under bright blue after subset sky with the 1/2 moon reflecting off the water. we picked up a special guest ( to be announced) to join us to sail to majestic Princess Louisa at first light tomorrow. Good night and cheers to all our family and friends.
