H/T Laborious Cretin Good morning. Attached video captures a large eruption last night behind the west limb, along with a bright coronal mass ejection (CME). STEREO Ahead imagery is currently limited, however the source of the event may have been region 2051, now transiting the farside of the sun. The eruption was associated with Type II and IV radio emissions (also known as sweep frequency events), but because this was a farsided occurrence, will have minimal impact on our planet. Video courtesy of the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) and LASCO C2.
